3 Journal Prompts That Can Change Your Life

Tony Robbins emphasizes that we overestimate what we can achieve in a year and underestimate what we can achieve in 10 years.

These journal prompts are about your dreams for your future. The last one is about your past, because when you let go of that one thing from the past that’s holding you back, you’re catapulted toward the future your desire.

Write down one major goal or dream you have. Then, write a list of excuses as to why you can’t work toward it now or why you have obstacles slowing you down. Finally, explain why each excuse is a bad excuse and point out the limiting belief it came from.

Write a letter from your future self having accomplished what you want to accomplish. Tell yourself what you would want to know in order to help you get to where your future self is now.

Write a letter to your past self. What message would you give to yourself at that point you were experiencing what you now need to let go of?

Using exercises like these, you can change the way your mind influences your outcomes, by eliminating limiting beliefs and “installing” positive visions of the future. Your imagination is a map of your mind, and your beliefs about yourself are what determine your actions.
